21 year old Kim Si-woo produced a fantastic final round to win the Players Championship by 3 shots. The young South Korean has won his 2nd PGA Tour event to become only the 4th player in the last 25 years to win 2 events by the time he's 22. He started 2 shots behind the over night leaders a produced a superb 69, 3 birdies and 15 pars, to win by 3.
His nearest challenger through out the day was Ian Poulter, himself having a fantasic week. It was only a few weeks ago it looked like Poulter had lost his tour card and here he was challenging for the win. Unfortunately it wasn't to be for Poulter who lost his momentum when making bogey on the easy par 4 12th, but he can walk away knowing his game is coming back into shape and on a course where a lot of the big boys all failed.
For Kim this will be a big leap into the limelight with the worlds press watching him progress to see if he can become the star the media are tipping him to be. If he can get through the rest of the season with some good results in the majors and keep his form going in the tour events I think we could start to see a new name topping the leader boards on a regular basis.
